Oweilaemi congratulates newly elected IYC excos, wish them successful tenure

The former president of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Barr. Pereotubo Oweilaemi has congratulated the newly elected executives of the IYC wishing them a successful tenure.
Oweilaemi who spoke to The Liberator Newspaper on Wednesday said that the success of the IYC election held at Oporoza, Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri South West Local Government area of Delta State on Sunday was an indication that better days lie ahead for the body and Ijaw nation at large.
He expressed optimism that the current crop of Excos will do their best to uphold the core mandate of the apex Ijaw Youth body and take it to an eviable height.
While urging them to shun anti development tendencies capable of derailing the vision of the founding fathers of IYC, Oweilaemi reminded them that the collective interest of the Ijaw youths supercedes every other personal and parochial interest.
In his advice to the President elect, he urge him to imbibe team spirit, carrying other excos along always, and do proper consultation of stakeholders before critical decisions are taken bearing in mind that a tree cannot make a forest.
He also pleaded with all political, traditional and religious leaders in Ijaw nation to give every necessary support to the new executives to enable them succeed.
While thanking the 2020 Electoral Committee members for conducting free, fair and credible election, he celebrated candidates and their supporters for conducting themselves in the most orderly manner before, during and after the election.
He also thanked High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a.Tompolo and Oporoza Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom for hosting one of the most peaceful IYC election.
