Prince Botu Mourns Over Painful Demise Of Ijaw Global Literary Deity, Prof JP Clark

Prince Emmanuel Botu, popularly known as the Olotu, an illustrious son of Seimbiri  Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has mourned with the Clark-Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo, Ijaw nation, Nigeria and the world at large on the painful demise of a literary deity, Prof. John Pepper Clark, better known as J.P Clark. 

Expressing shock over the demise of the revered literary luminary, Prince Botu described the demise of Prof. Clark as a big blow to not only the Clark-Bekederemo family but also to the entire Ijaw nation and literary world at large. 

It would be recalled that Prince Emmanuel Botu is the Head of Surveillance to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Waterways, an advocate for a better and Safer Niger Delta Waterways, a position he has been handling well with many visible records to show. 

The IPMAN Chieftain mourns the late revered Prof. Clark in a statement issued to newsmen in Warri earlier today by the IPMAN media unit on behalf of their boss, Prince Botu, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers. 

In his words: “I express deep shock over the death of Professor Emeritus John Pepper Clark-Bekederemo, a renowned poet, prolific and staunch writer who has made vast historical achievements in the nation and beyond.

“Prof Clark served several years as a Professor of English at the University of Lagos, a position from which he retired in 1980. While at the University of Lagos he was co-editor of the literary magazine Black Orpheus.

“The late Prof. J.P Clark bagged alot of merit awards for literary excellence due to his educative publications, drama and literary works. He is indeed an icon of hope and inspiration to all the young aspiring writers in Delta State, Nigeria and beyond.

“My condolences to the family and loved ones and to everyone who benefited one way or the other from his legendary iconic writing, i prayed for God Almighty to bestow the family of late Prof. J.P Clark, unwavering strength to stay strong during this time of distress.
