Rights activist Gbozimor calls on Ogbe-Ijoh sons and daughters to join king Oromoni for Amafini festival

National President of Ijaw Defenders Mandate, IDM, Comr. John Gbozimor has called on all sons and daughters of Ogbe-Ijoh to join its revered traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, King Couple Oromoni, Mobene III, Ama-Okosu, the paramount ruler of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in celebrating the 2020 Amafini festival.

Gbozimor made the call yesterday via a statement issued to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

The Ogbe-Ijoh Amafini is a yearly festival that usually takes place in the month of January with spiritual cleansing of the town which according to traditionalists paves way for better things to come into the community in the year.

The national president of IDM noted that if all prominent individuals of the community can come together to grace the occasion, it would send positive signal to the world that Ogbe-Ijoh is truely moving forward as a people.

Speaking further, Comr. Gbozimor lauded the leadership of His Royal Majesty, King Couple Oromoni, Mobene III, Ama-Okosu, the paramount ruler of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom for contributing immensely for the growth and development of the kingdom.

He noted that Ogbe-Ijoh is lucky to have King Couple as their traditional ruler, stressing that better days are here for the people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

It would be recalled that Ogbe-Ijoh community is the headquaters of Warri South West Local Government Area.

The Liberator Newspaper can report that the Amafini festival will commence today with lots of activities as Ijaw music giants, Chief Barrister S. Smooth, fondly called the paddle of Niger Delta and king of South South; Alfred Izonebi, alias Jking and others will be entertaining live today at Ogbe-Ijoh.

Meanwhile, there are indications that lots of dignitaries across the country will be storming Ogbe-Ijoh for the ancient festival.
