Rijigging PAP For The Benefit Of Niger Deltans Tops Dikio’s Visit To Pondi

A Niger Delta political leader, Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, on Sunday 12th of December 2021 played host to Col. Milland Dikio (Rtd), Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) at his beautiful mansion in Warri. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

According to Hon. Julius Pondi, a politician regarded by many as a political liberator of Niger Deltans, Ijaws and the people of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State hinted our reporter that the closed door meeting  between himself, the Amnesty  boss and other leaders like Amb. (Dr) Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and Chief Emman Amgbaduba, Commissioner, Ministry of Oil and Gas, Delta State and Barr. Roland Pereotubo Oweilaemi, Former President, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide on his side was centred around discussions on how to rejig the Amnesty Programme for the benefit of Niger Deltans.

While lauding Dikio for visiting him at his humble abode, Hon. Pondi said there have been series of complaints from the Ex-agitators of the programme, stressing that he believes that the coordinator as a man of capacity will ensure that he put things in proper perspective. 

The federal lawmaker noted that Niger Deltans sees the Amnesty Programme as a very important programme particularly the Ex-agitators hence the office must do all within its powers to ensure that these people are maintained and sustained in accordance with the provisions contained in the programme. 

Speaking among other issues, Pondi said the Interim Administrator must continue to consult and always be in touch with critical stakeholders of the programme, stressing that Niger Deltans can’t continue to be lamenting when Amnesty and other agencies are there to take care of some of these things, adding that synergy is key along this regard, noting that his office is open whenever the need arises so long as it is a Niger Delta affair.

Pondi had particularly described the Amnesty boss as a humble and result oriented personage, maintaining that he should continue with the tempo of his leadership in running the affairs of the programme. 

However, Dikio appreciated Hon. Pondi and other leaders present for the hosting and the sharing of ideas to move Niger Delta and the Amnesty Programme forward.

Dikio said that the Amnesty office under his watch is doing a lot and will continue to fashion out ways to sustain and improve on the programme, stressing that he will not dissapoint Niger Deltans and her leaders.

Meanwhile, the meeting came to a conclusion with the resolve and hope that PAP under Dikio will continue to ensure a better deal for Niger Deltans.
