A leading Nigerian based Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), operating under the auspices of the Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF) yesterday made history as the first humanitarian organization that has taken a sensitization campaign against the dreaded coronavirus to the creeks in Delta State.

Chairman of the Shedrack Agediga Foundation, His Excellency, Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga embarked on the journey yesterday 27th of March 2020 particularly to some communities in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

It would be recalled that Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga, a global peace advocate and recipient of many international, national and regional awards is the current Executive Director (ED), Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

Amb. Agediga, a Niger Delta born leader that have produced leaders across the country in their different spheres following his philanthropic gestures noted that SAF will continue to remain committed in the service of humanity, stressing that efforts will be made to reach out to other areas.

However, the Shedrack Agediga’s team also used the sensitization tour to identify with His Royal Majesty, Elder Capt. (King) Joseph I. Timiyan (JP), Torububou 1. Agbonu, the Ebenanawei of Ogulagha Kingdom yesterday on his birth anniversary.

Customized greeting cards were presented to King Agbonu from the DESOPADEC management board as well as a personal one made by Amb. Shedrack Agediga and his family to the revered traditional ruler of Ogulagha Kingdom coupled with other goodies.

Nevertheless, Amb. Agediga was represented by his Special Assistant (SA), Engr. Felix Braboke who led the team, in his speech at the palace of Agbonu in Obotobo 1 community, Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, he noted that his boss Agediga is happy to felicitate with the paramount ruler, stressing that he would have come in person but other official and pressing engagements prevented him from showing up.

Meanwhile, after eulogising the king, Engr. Braboke presented tap buckets, nose masks, liquid soaps as well as hand sanitizers to the palace for onward distribution to Obotobo 1 and 11 commumities, Sokebolou and Yokiri communities all in Ogulagha Kingdom.

In his sharp response, the traditional ruler stated that he deeply appreciates what Amb. Shedrack Agediga and the management of DESOPADEC have done, stressing that he is happy for all what the ED is doing for the Kingdom.

Agbonu particularly noted that the good works of Agediga cannot go unrewarded, adding that somehow and in no distant time, Shedrack Agediga will be graciously and handsomely rewarded.

King Timiyan also rained royal blessings on Agediga to prosper beyond human imagination and prayed for journey mercies among the team members that made the delegation.

It would be recalled that in complying with the Delta State Government directive of preventing the eventual spread of coronavirus, the paramount ruler suspended his supposed birthday celebration and Conferment of chieftaincy titles to deserving sons and daughters of the Kingdom.
The Liberator Newspaper can report that throughout the tour and the brief stop over at the palace, the social distance rules and wearing of nose mask and moving with hand sanitizers were strictly adhered to by the delegation of Agediga and the palace that seem to be so abreast with the measures.
Agediga’s team include Engr. Felix Braboke, SA to the ED; Engr. Angos Borme, (Elder) of the delegation; Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete, Mr. Andaowei Okou as well as Mr. Otusi Tare Frank.
Present at the palace during the visit include Double Chief Peter Ikiagha, Proposed Chiefs Godspower Tomone, Francis Boumiebi, Chief Macdonald Anoruse, among others.
