Security: Relocate Your Headquarters To Delta, Okowa Aid Tells Oil Companies

Oil multinational companies extracting crude oil from Delta State have been called upon to relocate their headquarters to the state, saying the reason for their relocation from the state was no longer tenable.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Delta State governor on security, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, made this call in his maiden press briefing in Warri. He said the reason for the multinationals to relocate, which was alleged security threats were things of the past.

He assured that he was joining hands with all security agencies and other government organs to ensuring that multinational companies relocate and enjoy a more secure and peaceful Delta.

According to the SSA, his boss, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa was putting everything in place in order to inuagurate special team of security men who would tackle the menace of street cultism and other related security challenges.

He expressed the state government concern on cultism and other vices, adding that such acts have destroyed night life in communities partucularly the ones in rural and riverine areas.

“The act of these miscreants have destroyed night life in our cities and communities. Law abiding citizens are harrassed and intimidated on daily basis. It makes life unpleasant in the state, and the state can no longer condone it. We are assuring Deltans that the security apparatus will do more to address this menace”, he added.

Comrade Ezekiel warned those in criminal acts and cultism in the state to desist from such acts, as he further warned that anyone caught may be jailed for life.

On herders attack, the SSA disclosed that the state government is working assiduously to nip the menace in the bud by putting special task force including community vigilantes who will stop herdsmen from attacking in highways and communities and make the environments safe for farmers to go about their normal duties without molestation.

Comrade Ezekiel further said the government was worried over the abuse of drugs by young ones, adding that drastic actions are being taken to forestall it before it turns them to nuisance. He called on authorities saddled with power to checkmate drug related crimes to act fast before it is too late.

He said, “It is a fact that our people are facing a serious hersdmen attacks in the recent times, the state is working assiduously to nip it in the bud and special task force including community vigilantes will soon before be put in place to forestall the deadly hersdmen attacks in our highways and communities as to create safe environment for our communities and farmers to go about their normal duties without any molestation.

“It is our warning that hersdmen who will not do their business peaceful should leave the state without further delay as the state government will no longer fold hands to watch reckless and barbaric hersdmen attacks against law abiding citizens of the state.

“We are aware that the abuse of drugs by the younger generation is alarming, except drastic actions are taken to forestall it, it will end up turning our younger youths to nuisance. The authorities saddled with such powers to checkmate drugs related crimes should step up more efforts to stop this menace in Delta State before it is too late”, he added.

The SSA assured that all the menace, such as hersdmen attack, cultism, drug abuse, sea pirate, amongst the youths would be brought to the barest minimum if not outrightly eradicated from the state.

He therefore implored all Deltans to join hands with his boss, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the full realisation of his SMART AGENDA project.
