Some students under the Nigerian Seafarers Development Programme, (NSDP) who are on oversea scholarship training sponsored by the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA) are reported to be stranded in Philippines.

Information gathered by The Liberator Newspaper indicated that  the affected students have been denied their allowance, accommodation and Visa extension fees for the past 3 months.

The information also revealed that  the students are currently living in a pathetic condition as most of them have resulted to begging and feeding from Nigerian communities in Phillipines to survive.

All  efforts said to have been made by the affected students  to reach their sponsors NIMASA have not yielded any positive  result as those in charge keep telling them they are waiting for approval for fund to be released from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

They have however cried out to the federal government of Nigeria and all relevant authorities to come to their  rescue to avoid a more  degenerating condition that can lead them into crime.
