Delta South Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme (JP)  has mourned over the sudden demise of Hon. Tim Owhefere.

Chief Julius Takeme described Hon. Tim Owhefere who until his demise, represented Isoko North constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly as a committed, hardworking, patriotic and thorough-bred lawmaker who served the state and his constituents diligently and gallantly with a lot of legislative sagacity to his credit.

The Delta South PDP Chairman while describing the late lawmaker as a rallying point to reach out to other lawmakers from the Delta South Senatorial District in the state house of Assembly, stressed that the Delta State House of Assembly is in great tragedy  and has lost a strong voice.

Dr. Takeme asserted that the death of Hon.Tim Owhefere has left a huge vacuum to be filled in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Chief Julius Takeme issued the condolence message in a statement he personally signed and circulated to newsmen earlier today in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers.

Dr. Julius had particularly prayed to the Lord Almighty to grant the immediate family of Hon. Timi Owhefere the fortitude to bear the great loss, adding that he received the news of his death as a rude shock.

However, the fourth term member and Chairman, House Committee on Information, was said to have been down for about three weeks with unconfirmed illness, a source however said the lawmaker died of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.

NAN reports that Owhefere passed on Wednesday night during a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, at the age of 57.
