The prime minister of all Ijaws in Udu Kingdom, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, Capt. (Pilot) Whiskey Aranta Ogidigben-Arere has stated that the Ijaws and the Urhobos are brothers historically hence must and will continue to live peacefully as one. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The revered Ijaw Prime Minister in Udu Kingdom made the assertion recently in Udu while playing host to some personalities from both ethnic nationalities during the weekend.

According to Pilot Aranta, the Ijaws and Urhobos have a long standing history of brotherhood coupled with intermarriages among the two tribes, stressing that it is very difficult to see an Ijaw man without having any trace of Urhobo.

Speaking further, Ogidigben-Arere maintained that living together as one will benefit everyone than living as estranged fellows, adding that just as there are Ijaws in Urhobo land that is the same way Urhobos are also  in Ijaw land.

He particularly charged sons and daughters of both tribes to always embrace peace than indulge in acts capable of jeopardizing the wonderful relationship that exists among them for ages now.

However, Pilot Whiskey had assured his Urhobo landlords that the Ijaws are always peace loving people hence they will continue to maintain the symbiotic relationship with the Urhobos in Udu and beyond.

He particularly described the Udu Urhobos as calm, peaceful and accommodating, adding that the Ijaws will continue to owe them in high esteem.
