WAffITV comes on air, unveils plans to empower youths through ‘skill to stardom’ reality show – The Liberator

As part of effort towards combating the scourge of unemployment in the country, fast rising Television station Waffi TV has unveiled plans to empower over 60 Nigerian youths through ‘skill to stardom’ reality show initiative.

The unveiling was made by the Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of the organization Pst. Arex Akemeotubo through a release circulated to newsmen on Wednesday, a copy of which was obtain by The Liberator Newspaper.

Akemeotubo while giving insights into the vision behind the initiative noted that ”Many Nigerians and Africans at large are unemployed mostly because our society does not impact the needed skills that will enable such skilled individual (s) become self-reliant.
”As such they now depend on white collar jobs that are either not available or too few to go round. Government at different levels have organized skill acquisition programs both for graduates and the general masses but sadly the needed result have not been achieved. This is partly due to the fact that the trainees lack entrepreneurial skills and platforms to showcase what they’ve learnt.” He said
He explained that the skill to stardom 2020 initiative is a reality TV show that is solely designed to empower Nigerians nationwide, saying that subsequent editions of the laudable reality TV show will cover the entire African continent.
He said sixty selected youths who must be skillful in fashion design, graphics design, singing, hair styling, dancing, shoe making and other innovative skills will slug it out in the skill to stardom house for sixty days.
He said that the contest is opened to all Nigerians that have acquired the skills either formally or informally and all applicants must have attained the age of 18 as at September 2020 noting that the program will be aired on WAFFI TV and other national television stations as well as Social media platforms for 60 days.
He therefore urged interested persons to obtain the form at the rate of N 5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira) only which is Non- Refundable and payable on the WAFFITV App before proceeding to fill the form online ”Sales of form begins Friday 21st of February 2020 and ends last week of March.” He added.
The CEO disclosed that audition for the show will commence first week of April, 2020 and will be done regionally covering at least 11 states as the sixty contestant will emerge after the audition but assured that those who will not make through the audition will be given free skill training and equipped with all necessary materials .
He explained that anyone that will losses out at the first week of the eviction stage will go home with N500,000,00, while second week goes home with N 1,000,000, those evicted at the third, fourth, fifth and sixth week will get N1,500,000, N2,000,000, N2,500,000 and N 3,000,000.00 respectively.
Meanwhile, Pst. Alex noted that winners of the reality TV show will smile home with the sum of N20,000,000 (Twenty Million Naira) each.
