Water System: No Going Back, Our Two Months Ultimatum Stands, Yokiri Youths Boils

Youths of oil rich Yokiri Community in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have stated that there is no going back on the two months ultimatum earlier issued to the management of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) to urgently fix the water system in the community. 

This was contained in a statement jointly signed and issued to newsmen in Warri earlier today after an emergency meeting of the youths, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide by the duo of Comr. Tombrapagha Oleh, Youth President of Yokiri community and Mr. Kingsley Tuma, Youth Secretary.

The Youths had in the statement noted that they are not aware of any meeting held between SPDC and the leadership of the community, stressing that they were completely ignored in the purported meeting if actually there was a meeting. 

They asserted that unless SPDC immediately mobilise their contractors to site to fix the water system in the community before October 1st, their ultimatum stands, adding that failure to do so will lead to total shutdown of all activities in the water treatment plant. 

The statement reads in full below:

We the entire Yokiri Youths of the oil rich Ogulagha kingdom in Burutu LGA Delta State has held an emergency meeting regards to the counter letter Engr Moses Ibilou the chairman of Yokiri Community issued out to newsmen for publication.

We have concluded in our emergency meeting held earlier today the 25th day of August 2021 by 10am, that our two months ultimatum remain

The entire youths of Yokiri Community and the leadership of the youths are not aware of any meeting held by our Chairman, chiefs and our stakeholders with SPDC,it seems the youths are totally ignored and our ultimatum letter has been taken for granted.

The entire Yokiri Youths in oil rich Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu LGA Delta state call on the attention of our stakeholders, SPDC to call on the contractors to mobilize quickly to site to commence work, if not, on the first of October 2021, we will stand by our ultimatum by shutting down every  activities in the water treatment plant.
