We will flush out pirates in Burutu,  Delta waterways – Ekisah Vows

Member of the Delta State Land/Waterways Security Committee, Comr. Jenny Ekisah has vowed that his committee members shall soon swing into action by flushing out sea pirates operating in the waterways of Burutu Local Government Area and Delta State at large.

Ekisah made the vow yesterday in Burutu, headquater of the Local Government Area while addressing the press on the state of affairs in the area.

According to him, there are steps taken by Chairman of the Delta State Waterways/Land Security Committee, Chief Boro Opudu together with members of the committee to ensure that the waterway is safe for those who ply the route.

It would be recalled that pirate activities have recently become rampant in the Ekogbene axis of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State that have caused panic among the rural dwellers.

He stated that the squad recently appointed by the Delta State Government to secure the Delta State Waterways and Land is a tight one that is capable of flushing out criminal elements.

Comr. Ekisah had particularly warned pirates operating in the waterways to deceased from robbery activities, stressing that their days are numbered if they fail to heed to his advice.

Meanwhile, Jenny had assured His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State that they will ensure that everywhere remain calm and peaceful in the next coming days.
