Yokiri: We Have Met With SPDC, They Are Working On Fixing The Water System

Chairman of oil rich Yokiri Community in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Engr. Moses Ibilou have stated that the community under his leadership have met with the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) on the restoration of the Yokiri Water System. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report. 

Chairman Moses Ibilou made the disclosure yesterday after meeting with SPDC officials over the matter, saying that “We Have Met With SPDC, They Are Working On Fixing The Water System in the community.”

According to him, the meeting which had in attendance the community leadership, chiefs and elders have all agreed that there is no need to issue any ultimatum, adding that SPDC has always being a serious partner in the development of the community.

However, Engr. Ibilou had particularly called on his youths as their leader in the community to relax the ultimatum as the matter has been addressed by the highest leadership of the community under his watch. 

In his words: “After meeting with SPDC officials in respect of the Yokiri Water System in company of respected chiefs and elders of our community, following the fruitful deliberations and the readiness of SPDC to restore the water system in the community,  we have decided to put the ultimatum earlier issued by our youths on hold. 

“SPDC has been a critical stakeholder in the development of our community over the years, we can’t afford to jeopardise our relationship, we will have to give them chance to do their work by restoring the water system in the community. “.
