Amb. Edwin Aken has lambasted the group, Coastal Communities Water Force (CCWF) over allegation of deceit and betrayal leveled against him by the group.

Amb. Aken who gave the reply through a press release sent to The Liberator on Tuesday noted that he would not have bordered to join issues with the opinion of a faceless group as it amounts to waste of time, but for the need to set the records straight.

The group had claimed that they were approached by Amb. Aken prior to the 2019 election to work for Governor Okowa victory, which according to them they did, only for Amb Aken to turn back and renege on his promise

But in a swift reaction, Amb Aken described the claims as outright lies and rantings of attention seekers who thinks they can attract sympathy from members of the public by casting aspersions on his person

He explained that in the build up to the 2019 election, he met and interacted with several communities both in the riverine areas and mainland towns preaching the gospel of governor Okowa’s reelection and the benefits that Deltans will derive by voting him in for a second term.

The Ambassador further said that in the course of his movements to different places, he had discussions with various associations, women and youth groups across the 25 local governments but never made any personal promise to any group aside the message that Okowa will fix the problems in Delta.

In his words ” Prior to the 2019 general election, I Amb. Edwin Aken work with different groups in Riverine communities and inland towns and villages to preach and Testify of the good works of our amiable governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa”

” I had discussions with various groups, associations, individuals as well summon youths from the 25LGA’s in the state for rally to stand for the bid to build a better Delta state but I NEVER made any personal promises to any group of persons or militant group apart from the general speech that “Okowa will fix the problems in delta state” ranging from youth restiveness, infrastructural and human capital development which his excellency has been doing since his resumption of office. ”

”Nevertheless, i wish to seriously make this clear that any individual or group of people who has worked in the past election for PDP has worked for the better future of delta state and i admonish everyone to stay calm and see the general development of the state and not personal benefit.”
