President general of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC), Amb. Comr. Binebai Yerin Princewill has pleaded with older people in the political space across the country particularly in Delta State to create the enabling environment by encouraging youthful leadership.

This was contained in a statement personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri earlier today by Amb. Comr. Binebai Yerin Princewill while reacting to the International Youth Day, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

Binebai had in the statement noted that the youths have always been the foot soldiers of every nation, state, region, local government, Kingdom, community and what have you.
He noted that despites the contributions of the youths in virtually all sectors across the country, the political environment has been manipulatively made in such a way that the youths hardly make it to attain elective positions in our country.

Binebai asserted that while the  alleged  ugly trend is changing globally, he had admonished Nigerian leaders and the political leaders of Delta State and Niger Delta at large to always entrust high elective offices to the youths.

He continued that it is not enough to come up with the not too young to run bill or law and other related laws along this regard but should rather be backed with sincerity that must not only end in papers and our mouths, “we should be seeing it materializing in reality ” Princewill added.

The Delta Comrade Community President, Amb. Princewill had particularly called on Ijaw Youths to be united, organised and begin to work for leaders with clear intent to improve on the living standards of youths be it elective  political position.

He noted that while few older ones are trying their bests, he explained that the youths themselves too should cordinate themselves in such a way that they should not be found wanting by showing capacity in whatever they do.

However, Amb. Princewill has called on all youths in Delta, particularly the Ijaws to take advantage by calling on all those that  have not registered before to take full advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise, noting that the journey of deciding “who rules us at any level via elective positions begins with our voting strenght, having your voters cards ready ahead of 2023 is very key”.

“As youths, we are all winners, the statement that the future belongs to us will always be a mirage if we don’t take up responsibilities now, our tommorow is today, let us take action now”. Binebai.

Nevertheless, DICC also congratulates all youths that have fought their way into the mainstream politics either in the  House of Representatives, State Houses of Assemblies and what have you.
