Yuletide: Hon Asupa Dole Out Millions On Food Items Across Burutu North, South, Others

In what has become his yearly routine, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, member representing Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly yesterday distributed food items worthing millions of Naira on the people of Burutu North and South in the Local Government. 

Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta who is the Chairman house committee on security, Delta State while hinting The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide on the distribution had maintained that the gesture was to encourage his people to celebrate the yuletide season from his end.

When asked on what triggered him to embark on such gesture, Hon. Forteta said giving to the needy and providing for his people during the yuletide season and other critical times have always been part of him, stressing that he can’t be a leader without his people. 

According to him, the food items include 600 bags of rice, 600 kegs of groundnut oil (four litre each), 40 pieces of lace clothes for each ward in Burutu North for widows. 

He explained that while each ward in Burutu North will be getting 40 bags of rice and 40 kegs of groundnut oil, Burutu South will get a bit lesser compared to North where he is directly representing in the State House of Assembly. 

Forteta continued that he is including Burutu South in his distribution of the food items because he sees the entire Local Government Area as one with same people, adding that he will continue to owe the people of Burutu in high esteem. 

Nevertheless, 30 bags of rice and groundnut oil was also distributed to some Ijaws living in Warri to celebrate the season at Idama Hotel.

Others that benefited from the distribution include Ijaw Youth Council Western Zone, Asupa solidarity groups, women groups, All Progressive Congress (APC) in Burutu and others too numerous to mention. 

It would be recalled that #50,000,00 (Fifty  Thousand) cash was released by Hon. Asupa for the demobilization of the food items to the various wards in the Local Government. 

Party leaders from the various wards were on ground to pick up the items to the various wards in the Local Government.

The major distribution was done at Emomel Plaza, Giwamu junction in Warri, Delta State.
