By Ndu Samuel
In what has become a major boost to Comr. Ayoromiegha Welemu Jnr’s ambition, Parliamentarians from Western and Central Zone have unanimously adopted Welemu as their choice for Clerk of the 6th Mobile Parliament of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC ) Worldwide.
On October 30th 2024 during a widely attended meeting of the Central Zone Parliamentarians of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Williams Ayoromiegha Welemu Junior received a formal endorsement as the sole candidate for the office of Clerk of the 6th Mobile Parliament.
The endorsement represents a significant step forward for Comrade Williams, solidifying his support across multiple zones and further uniting the IYC leadership.
The Central Zone’s endorsement came in response to the unanimous decision by Western Zone Parliamentarians, who had expressed their unwavering support for Comrade Williams on October 29th 2024.
However, the Central Zone Parliamentarians Endorsement came shortly after the Western Zone Parliamentarians endorsed Welemu as their choice for the position of Clerk in the 6th Mobile Parliament.
Nevertheless, in a swift reaction, Welemu had appreciated the Parliamentarians for the endorsements, stressing that he feels highly honoured and indebted, adding that he will never take the gesture for granted.
In a similar manner, Chairman of Ogulagha Clan IYC, Comr. Louis Ogori had also appreciated the Central and Western Zone Parliamentarians, stressing that the IYC Ogulagha Clan is grateful as Welemu is a great son of the Kingdom.
It would be recalled that the 5th Mobile Parliament will in the coming days within November 2024 give way for the inauguration of the 6th Mobile Parliament.
