Amaseikumor 2025: Gbaraun Egbesu Registers Presence As Aketekpe Prays For Ijaw Nation’s Prosperity
In a significant manifestation of the power of Gbaraun Egbesu and answered to prayers of devotees, the day four of the ongoing Amaseikumor Festival in Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom of Delta State was marked with rainfalls in the early morning of Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
It is worth noting that Gbaraun Egbesu rites of the festival started on Monday. It is a cornerstone of the Amaseikumor Festival, which symbolizes strength, protection and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, on day four of the festival,
devotees, in their large number in white attire had trooped out in the morning to embark on Gbaraun Egbesu Ogele (procession) with energetic dancing, singing, and retired at the Gbaraun Egbesu Temple.
Their retirement at the temple, however, did not stop their singing and dancing until the Chief Host of the festival, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II, ‘crowned’ their Ogele with prayers.
Something significant, however, happened in the course of the prayers by Oboro Gbaraun II who doubles as the Chief Priest of the Gbaraun Egbesu. As the Chief Priest prayed for devotees, the Ijaw Nation and Nigeria at large, in the course of rounding off his prayers, the sky, which was clear, suddenly changed and it rained.
Devotees say it is a manifestation of the efficacy of the Egbesu god and most importantly a sign of answers to prayers that have been rendered in the past few days to Gbaraun Egbesu, Amaseikumor and Ibolomobo-Ere.
