A young advocate for compassion and community service, Queen Janelle Tamaratena Oghenegueke, has been crowned First Runner-Up in the Little Category of the 7th Edition of the Teen and Little Miss Humanitarian Pageant 2026, emerging as one of the standout winners in a competition defined by brilliance, poise, and purpose.
The prestigious annual pageant, organised by the Teen and Little Miss Humanitarian Pageant organisation, continues to distinguish itself as a platform dedicated not just to beauty and talent, but to nurturing humanitarian values among children and teenagers. Through its programmes, the organisation promotes kindness, empathy, leadership, and a deep sense of responsibility toward the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.
This year’s edition lived up to expectations, drawing a number of exceptionally talented young contestants. In the Little Category, Janelle competed against six other bright and determined participants in what observers described as a keenly contested and inspiring showcase of intellect, confidence, and social awareness. At the end of the rigorous selection process, she emerged as First Runner-Up, securing her place among the three queens traditionally crowned each year.
A student of Cradle School in Delta State, Janelle has already begun to carve a niche for herself as a young humanitarian. Even before clinching the title, she had actively engaged in outreach initiatives, including visits to schools where she distributed books and supported educational development projects aimed at encouraging learning among younger pupils. Her actions reflect the core vision of the pageant to raise a new generation of leaders driven by compassion and service.
As part of her responsibilities, her reign as First Runner-Up is expected to last for one year, during which she will serve as an ambassador of humanitarian ideals. She is anticipated to spearhead and participate in impactful projects that address the needs of the less privileged, further amplifying her voice as a young agent of change.
In a heartfelt reflection following her emergence, Janelle attributed her success to divine grace and expressed profound gratitude for the support system around her.
“Today, I offered heartfelt thanksgiving to God alongside my beloved family at Daily Miracles Church, Warri, Delta State. I am deeply grateful for His boundless grace, which continues to uplift my passion for humanitarian service and strengthen my commitment to positively impact lives,” she said.
She described her new role as more than just a title, but a calling to serve humanity with sincerity and dedication.
“My emergence as the First Runner-Up of the Little Miss Humanitarian is truly God’s doing. He has positioned me on a meaningful path of selfless service to humanity, inspiring me to lead with compassion, empathy, and dedication,” she stated.
Janelle further noted that the recognition marks the beginning of a greater journey, rather than a final destination.
“I recognize that this recognition is not an endpoint but a beginning. With faith as my foundation, I am committed to advancing impactful humanitarian initiatives, and I am just getting started,” she added.
Her emergence has been widely applauded by educators, family members, and community stakeholders, who describe her as a promising young leader with the passion and discipline needed to make a lasting difference.
The Teen and Little Miss Humanitarian Pageant continues to play a vital role in shaping socially conscious young individuals across Nigeria, using its platform to inspire a culture of giving, volunteerism, and purposeful living among the younger generation.
With her crown and renewed sense of purpose, Queen Janelle Tamaratena Oghenegueke now steps into a year of service, advocacy, and impact, one that is expected to touch lives and inspire hope in communities far and wide.
