2027: Elect Me, Witness Productive Leadership in Warri Federal Constituency – Bekenawei
By Ndu Samuel
High Chief (Dr.) Pedro T. Bekenawei has intensified his campaign for the House of Representatives seat for Warri Federal Constituency with a message centred on productive leadership, inclusive representation and people-oriented development, declaring that the people will witness a new era of effective representation if entrusted with their mandate in the 2027 general election.
Bekenawei, whose humanitarian interventions have continued to attract public attention, has in recent months distributed notebooks, writing materials and other educational supplies to pupils across several primary and secondary schools in Warri South, Warri South West and Warri North Local Government Areas. The intervention, according to residents, reflects his longstanding commitment to supporting education and investing in the future of children within the constituency.
According to him, the true essence of representation goes beyond occupying a political office, stressing that it requires a sincere commitment to addressing the challenges confronting constituents through people-centred legislation, effective oversight functions and the attraction of meaningful federal projects.
“Elect me and you will witness productive leadership in Warri Federal Constituency. My commitment is to serve every community without discrimination, promote unity among our diverse ethnic nationalities and ensure that our people enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he said.
Bekenawei maintained that the diversity of Warri Federal Constituency remains one of its greatest strengths, noting that lasting peace and sustainable development can only be achieved through justice, fairness, inclusion and equal opportunities for all.
He assured that under his representation, the interests of the Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo and every other ethnic nationality would receive equal attention, while decisions affecting the constituency would be guided by consultation, equity and collective progress.
Chief Bekenawei also pledged to prioritise education, support for the elderly, youth empowerment, healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, economic opportunities and programmes that would improve the standard of living of the people.
Political observers believe Bekenawei’s aspiration is gaining momentum because of his visible grassroots engagement and his growing reputation as a philanthropist who has consistently identified with the educational and social needs of communities across the constituency.
Supporters describe him as a symbol of hope whose message transcends politics and focuses on building bridges across ethnic divides while promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development. They argue that his accessibility, community-based interventions and inclusive leadership style distinguish him among the emerging contenders for the seat.
Bekenawei also promised to institutionalise regular consultations with traditional rulers, community leaders, youth organisations, women groups, professionals and other critical stakeholders to ensure that the voices of the people remain central to legislative decision-making.
As preparations for the 2027 general election continue, many political analysts believe the contest for the Warri Federal Constituency seat will be shaped not only by party platforms but also by the candidates’ records of service, capacity for inclusive leadership and ability to articulate a practical vision for the future.
For many residents, Chief Pedro Bekenawei’s aspiration represents an opportunity to pursue a more united, peaceful and development-driven Warri Federal Constituency, anchored on productive leadership, responsive representation and shared prosperity for all communities.
