Member representing Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu Local Government Area for its massive campaigns ahead of the March 6th local government elections in the state.
Hon. Forteta who doubles as the House Committee Chairman on Security made the commendation at Asaba yesterday via a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers.
The lawmaker had also tasked the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) to conduct a free, fair and credible poll come March 6th 2021, stressing that he is confident that the electoral umpire will conduct a transparent election.
While commending the PDP family in Burutu for their campaigns, Hon. Asupa said he is satisfied with the level of campaigns embarked upon by the local government and the various wards constituting Burutu Local Government.
He particularly noted that he is proud of all the PDP standard flag bearers, the ward leaders as well as its coordinators for a job well done.
Forteta maintained that it is a natural law that there is always a reward for hard work, adding that to show that there is no other party in Burutu Local Government, the PDP is the only party that has been campaigning in the local government so far ahead of the forthcoming council polls in the state.
However, Hon. Asupa had assured the people of Burutu North that he will continue to raise issues affecting the local government at the floor of the Delta State House of Assembly and will be performing his oversight functions by influencing more development to Burutu North.
Speaking further, the influential Burutu North lawmaker had expressed optimism that he is sure of victory for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding that no stone will be left unturned.
Meanwhile, it would be recalled that Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta is a former Chairman of Burutu Local Government, a former commissioner for youths and sports, Delta State and also a former commissioner for Urban Renewal, Delta State.
