According to reports reaching the news desk of The Liberator Newspaper, there is heavy protest rocking Jones Creek In OML 42 over workers welfare.
According to our source who would not want his name to be mentioned in print via a message sent to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper stated thus:
“Goodmorning all, there is tension in Jonescreek field. Presently, the surveillance personnel are protesting for their outstanding salary arrears, our kitchen has been locked, the house boat generator has been shutdown, the access gates to the station has been locked, also the clamp for the leak point on the TFP has been seized.”
When calls was put across to members of the community, a community leader in Jones creek who pleaded anonimity confirmed that the protest is ongoing as at the time of filling this report.
There are also indications that at Odidi field, some section of workers are on strike because of alleged non payment of Salaries.
However, in our bid to have a balanced reportage on the issue, calls were put across to officials of Neconde Energy Company Limited with a view to hear from them about the issue, they were unable to take calls.
This is a developing story, more details later…………..
