As the dreaded coronavirus, also known as Covid-19 sweeps across the World, wrecking havoc to humanity, claiming lives and humbling even greater nations with grave effect on economies and crumbling businesses worldwide.
The story of Nigeria is not different as Lagos, Abuja remains the most badly hitted in the country with the highest number of coronavirus positive cases accros the country.
While this report is focussing more in Delta State, the state has recorded two positive cases within the last few days with one positive case out of the recorded caes in the state dying before the test result could even come out yesterday, a worrisome development, the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has confirmed via his verified official Twitter handle.
However, according to a report by Niger Delta Today, the media outlet revealed that the second coronavirus case in Delta that died last night before the test result could be announced is a known pastor in Warri.
Meanwhile, this worrisome development has evoked fear among residents in Warri.
Nevertheless, another media outlet, Fresh Angle International reportedthat the building occupying the clinic where the COVID – 19 positive patient who died yesterday, was first admitted, has just been sealed up by authorities of Warri South Local Government Council in collaboration with the police at A Division Warri.
Part of the report reads “The clinic, Gifted Hands Clinic & Maternity at Ugbori, off Ekurede Itsekiri Road in Warri, was sealed up by the council authority, the police led by the DPO of A Division, Onyeke Ezekiel and some community leaders.
“The COVID – 19 fatality who was the business manager of BEDC and alleged pastor, before his death yesterday , was first admitted at Gift Hand Clinic and Maternity, before he was purportedly rushed to Delta State University Teaching Hospital at Oghara, where he died”.
Meanwhile, Governor Okowa has enjoined Deltans not to panic as residents have been advised to report any suspicious case to the appropriate authorities, adding that the patient died due to the fact that he reported late for proper attention from the state as his case has already worsened and deteriorated.
