Group urges politicians to attract more development, empower followers in Delta

A group operating under the auspices of Delta Ijaw Comrades Community, DICC has charged politicians across the State to empower followers who stood by them during the elections.

The group made the call in a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Warri, signed by its national president, Comr. Fanti B. Covenant, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

DICC had particularly narrowed its message to Ijaw politicians across the state, stressing that they  must after inauguration fulfil their campaign promises to the people.

The statement had particularly urged leaders to continue to prioritize the development of the Ijaw areas in the State, adding that the people have suffered for too much now.

In his words: “Delta Ijaw Comrades Community (DICC) charges Delta Ijaw elected political Leaders to do well to fulfil their campaign promises. 

“May we use this advantageous avenue to felicitate with you on your unbeatable track records in the present political class in Delta State as at today. 

“It is our collective interest to charge you (all elected officers) to bring infrastructural development to our localities, human capital development, political advancement, empowerment programs for youth, students, women and disable persons.

“We also task you all to be very fair, accessible and operate all inclusive leadership pattern as you are expected to appoint only competent   persons as legislative aide’s that tirelessly worked for you during elections. Indeed some of them went as far as creating unnecessary enmities for themselves because of you. 

“We wish you well and, assuring you all of our support whenever the need arises.”
