Pandemonium As Uwheru Kingdom In Delta Cries Out Over Alleged Incessant Herdsmen Attack
On behalf of the body, the entire Uwheru kingdom, the President, Comrade Joseph Ofudje provoked at the recent attacks and killing of Uwheru people at Ohoror Community, and other Uwheru villages, he however described the actions of the Fulani herdsmen as provocative, barbaric, evil and unholy, which is a well calculated attempt for war.
The Uwheru people in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State has called on the federal Government and the government of Delta State to wake up to their constitutional responsibilities by protecting lives and properties.
President Joseph, has appealed to the following personalities; H.E Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, H.E DSP, Senator Barr Ovie Omo-Agege, senator representing Delta Central, Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, member representing Ughelli North, South and UDU federal constituency, Hon. Prince Eric Oharisi, member representing Ughelli North Constituency 11, Hon. Chief Godwin Adode JP, Chairman of Ughelli North LGA and other political appointees and leaders irrespective of political party affiliations to use their good offices to put an end to the incessant herdsmen attacks on innocent citizens of Uwheru kingdom.
“These terrorists group has been killing our people over the years, and no reasonable actions have been taken so far by the government, they will only come in form of solidarity and sympathy after attack on us and speak their wailing political languages just to mislead the public and gain attention. This must stop, because we need action and a very proactive one to put an end to this menace.
“All we, Uwheru people are asking at this junction is for the government of the day at both federal, state and local government levels to emplore their realistic machineries of security architecture at all levels to evacuate the terrorists (herdsmen) from the entire Uwheru Kingdom, our houses, villages and farmlands, sadly, these people are raping, killing, kidnapping and extorting our innocent citizens and destroying our farmlands and crops which is the only surviving means of living by Uwheru people. At the moment our people can no longer sleep with eyes closed, and they no longer live a normal life as their fundamental right.
“On Thursday 17th March 2022, they (herders) planned to invade same Ohoror and Agadama Community but all their attempts proved abortive and because of fear of unknown attack, many people have fled to different neighboring towns which they are yet to return nor any trace of some of them by relatives as we speak now, as the results of last week attack, 3 persons were shot by the same herders who are still receiving treatments in an undisclosed hospital.
“Therefore, we are soliciting and appealing to the federal and Delta State government to come to our aid for humanitarian help and support as life has become so terrible and unbearable in Uwheru kingdom. We give them 7 days grace Or else we will embark on massive peaceful protest that will shutdown the east west road till our needs are attended to.
“The government has failed entirely in protecting lives and properties, they should allow every individuals to bear arms in protecting his or her territory.
Finally, we commend the Agbarha Army Barack CO and his security men for the aborted herders planned attack.”
