The leadership of Western Clan Chairmen Forum has vowed to mobilise its members across the zone to defend their brothers in Ikoro community in Olodiama Kingdom, Edo state if Governor Godwin Obaseki continues to remain mute by not intervening on the lingering issue between Ikoro and Obazuwa communities.
This was contained in a statement signed by Comr. Ebolo Samuel, Chairman of all chairmen in the Zone, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.
The statement reads in full below:
THE PEACEFUL DISPOSITION OF THE IJAW MAN MUST NOT BE INTERPRETED AS WEAKNESS: WE WILL MOBILIZE OVER 200 IJAW YOUTHS TO DEFEND IJAW YOUTHS IN EDO STATE IF GOVERNOR OBASEKI IF HE FAILS TO INTERFACE!
Provoked by the unnecessary prolongation & escalation of the communal war between the Ijaws in Edo State & the Obazuwa ommunity & the deliberate silence of the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Governor Obaseki towards the aforementioned issue, the IYC Clans under my watch as Chairman will mobilize over 200 Ijaw Youths to defend the Ijaws in Edo State if he fails to interface.
This has become necessary considering the nonchalant attitude of the government in her primary duty to protect lives & property.
The Ijaws while exhibiting their age long virtues such as tolerance, patience and peaceful disposition will never run away if been attacked beyond the limit.
We have not been conquered in times past and would not be known for such I’ll fate in our time.
Comr. Ebolo Samuel
Chairman of all chairmen, IYC Western Zone
