BREAKING: INEC Bows to Pressure, Postpones Elections Till February 23, March 9

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has decided to shift Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections till next week 23 February.

It was one of the decisions reached early today in a crunch talk between INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and 12 national commissioners in Abuja.

Professor Yakubu made the disclosure earlier today in a press briefing at Abuja, stating logistic problems occasioned by the commission.

The INEC chairman had also announced March 9th for governorship and state house of assembly elections.

It would be recalled that the postponement of the elections by INEC is occasioned pressures from certain quarters.
