2019: Come out, vote peaceful, Ayetan charges Ijaw youths in Delta, Ondo, Edo States
The Mobilization Officer of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Western Zone, Comr. Godstime Daniel Ayetan has charged Ijaw youths in Delta, Edo and Ondo States to come out in their numbers and vote peacefully during the elections.
The Western Zone IYC Mobilization Officer had particularly warned against violence among the youths during and after the general elections.
Ayetan gave the admonition yesterday in a press statement made available to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.
He had particularly charged Ijaw youths in Edo, Ondo and Delta States to shun all acts of violence and not to be used as political thugs during and after the elections.
Comr. Godstime had further called on Nigerian youths to get their PVCs to actively involve in the election process by voting for those they think will represent them well.
In his words: “The role of youths in electoral process cannot be over-emphasized as they constitute larger percentage of the population. As youths, we must not be/get discouraged especially as regards to the recent Election Postponement.
“It’s the right step in the right direction to once again awaken the consciousness of our youths in the politics and electoral process of Nigeria in this 2019 General Elections.
“At this point, it’s advisable for us all to get our Permanent Voter’s Card (PVCs) and also sensitize our people on the need for their full participation in the electoral process. There’s need for us all to have focus on what should be our contributions to the political development of our country Nigeria. Therefore, as youths, don’t get discouraged and don’t be intimidated. Get your PVC, Go out on Election Day, Saturday 23rd February, 2019 and cast your vote peacefully.
“Finally, we must encourage ourselves to get involved actively to determine the future of our Nation. We all have roles to play to ensure Credible, Peaceful, Free and Fair elections. As Youths we must Shun all forms of Election violence and thuggery. We must not allow ourselves to be used by the politicians as thugs to unleash violence and disrupt the forth coming 2019 General elections.” The IYC Western Zone Mobilization Officer had stated.
