Aken congratulates Okowa, praises him on first tenure, hopeful of a better second term
A youth leader in Delta State and community peace ambassador, Amb. Aken E. Edwin has congratulated His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa on the successful innauguration as Governor of the state.
Aken made the call yesterday in a statement issued to newsmen in Asaba, headquaters of the state shortly after the innauguration of Okowa and his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.
The Delta youth leader had particularly praised Okowa on his first tenure as Governor of the state, noting that Delta is shinning due to the Governor’s taste for development.
However, while lauding the Governor on his sterling performance during his first tenure that ended yesterday to usher in his new admnistration, Amb. Edwin had expressed optimism that the second tenure of the Governor will even be more fruitful than the first admnistration.
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP adherent in Delta State had charged Deltans to continue to support the admnistration, noting that a new era marked with more development had just began.
In his words: “I want to use this medium to first thank the almighty God for the victory of our very dear Governor and his successful innauguration. As the new Government begins, it is my humble prayer that Deltans should continue to sustain their unflinching love to our dear Governor.
“His first tenure was really amazing, he is the most youth friendly Governor Delta State has ever had, i have no iota of doubt in me that he will perform even better in this second mandate.
“It is also my call that His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State and his erudite deputy will continue to prioritize the development of the Ijaw riverine communities in the state”
It would be recalled that Aken was a former youth president of Ogbe-Ijoh community in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State who had contributed greatly for the victory of the Governor and other PDP candidates in Warri West.
