There was undescribable joy and jubilation as a pan Ijaw International group operating under the auspices of Ijaw Women of America, IWA on Thursday stormed Arogbo community in Ese- Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State to commission a portable drinkable water.

The women in their large numbers stormed the Ijaw speaking community of Arogbo town in Ondo State with various Ijaw women drawn across the Niger Delta States to commission the Solar Panel Borehole Water that runs in millions of naira to the people of Arogbo kingdom.

While speaking to newsmen during the commissioning, president of the Ijaw Women of America, Mrs Eunice Apreala had hinted The Liberator Newspaper that the group is committed to do more for other Ijaw kingdoms within the Niger Delta region.

Eunice had maintained that IWA under her leadership is determined to do more, stressing that it will continue to give back to society in their own little way.

However, The Liberator Newspaper can report that the International Ijaw Women Group had also commissioned similar projects in other Ijaw kingdoms in other states of the Niger Delta region.

However, when The Liberator press crew visited His Imperial Majesty, Pere Zachaeus Doubra Egbunu (JP) Opukutu III, the Agadagba of Arogbo Ijaw Kingdom in Ese-Odo local government area of the state.

The paramount ruler had heaped praises on IWA led by Mrs. Eunice Apreala for providing water for his people, stressing that the group had done something uncommon for all citizens of Arogbo kingdom.

In his words: “He that gives water will never lack, it is my prayer that they shall continue to increase financially and otherwise, just as water is important to our existence as a people, this water that IWA had provided for our people so shall their lives be watered beyond human imagination”. Agadagba of Arogbo prayed.

Meanwhile, Mrs Eunice, president of the Ijaw Women of America had also inaugurated the Ondo State Chapter of IWA with Mrs. Agbede Florence as their state coordinator.

Nevertheless, Mrs Agbede had vowed to work in synergy with the mother IWA to give hope to the hopeless Ijaw communities in Ondo State.

She had maintained that the Ondo State Chapter of IWA under her command will partner with relevant agencies in the building of hospitals and provision of chairs, tables, desks and other materials for both primary and secondary schools within the Ijaw communities in Ondo State.

“I am the leader of IWA in the just inaugurated Ondo State Chapter, we commend them for what IWA International had done, we are under The Ijaw Women of America, they have done what even the Government has not done, this is really good, the neglect is too much, as a chapter, we are going to replicate same in other sectors under my leadership, we will mobilize fully to ensure that we contribute our quota for the development of our people.” Mrs Agbede stated.

It would be recalled that Dame Deborah Diamond Abbey, Public Relations Officer, PRO of IWA International among other members of the group were part of the commissioning.

Other Ijaw groups, community leaders and the paramount ruler of Arogbo kingdom also sent a representative to witness the historic commissioning of the water project.
