Delta State School Sport Festival: Ekpebide Coaxes Home With Gold Medal

There was wild jubilation in Delta State as young Mss Ekpebide Dorcas against all odd won a gold medal during the just concluded Delta State School Sport Festival.

Dorcas who represented Ogulagha Secodary School in Burutu Local Government Area was officially presented the gold medal by the Chief Inspector of Education, C .I .E, Mrs. Ejiro Ohwofajeke in Burutu Local Government Area on Friday 28th of June 2019.

It would be recalled that it was the Sport Officer, Mr. Dauyebo A. Romeo that led the team to achieve the gold medal.

Meanwhile, Mrs Ejiro, C.I.E Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State had described Mss Ekpebide Dorcas as an emerging young athlete that needs to be groomed.

She had however, appreciated her parents, particularly the Ogulagha secondary school for grooming her to become a fine athlete, noting that she will become a great asset to Delta State, Nigeria, Africa and even the World.

The Burutu Local Government Area Chief Inspector of Education had maintained that Dorcas, the gold medalist will go far, stressing that even after the presentation of the award, she should continue to train, noting that better days are ahead.

Nevertheless, in a brief interview with The Liberator Newspaper, Mss Ekpebide had revealed that she dedicated the gold medal to the Lord Almighty for making it possible.

Dorcas had assured her teaming supporters that she will not dissapoint them even as she grow in life.

Some of the dignitaries present during the occasion include Mr. Johnbull Ogobiri, chairman Ogulagha community; Umukoro.O. Godspower, Principal Ogulagha Secondary School with the host of others that thronged out in their numbers to grace the ceremony.
