A Delta based grass root politician, Comr. Cedric Amu Itoto has called on His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa, Governor of Delta State not to forget the youths in his political appointments.

Itoto, a former caretaker councilor in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State made the call yesterday in Warri during a gathering of some youths in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

He had particularly noted that the appointments made so far seems that the Governor is forgetting the youths already, noting while it is too early to conclude it is also too early for the Governor to forget the youths of the state.

Comr. Itoto had maintained that Governor Okowa must try to balance the political ratio between the old hands and the youths in his subsequent political appointments, revealing that the youths are gradually getting tired.

The grass root leader had stated that there is global demand for youthful leadership, stressing that Governor Okowa must show good example by appointing the youths of Delta into his cabinet to man sensitive offices.

In his words: “The youths should not be remembered only during elections, youths play a major role in his reelection bid, the delay in appointing youths into his cabinet is becoming worrisome”

Itoto had however admonished Governor Okowa to urgently consider the appointment of youths across the 25 Local Government Areas for important appointments, stressing that such will be the only way to appease the youths that are allegedly frowning.

In his words: “As youths, we can’t be working like elephants and be eating like ants, this matter will become thick and thicker by the day if this matter is not addressed urgently, we are running out of patience”
