Lecture, drama, quiz, debate, wrestling characterizes 2019 NAOS, PIF independence celebration in Delta

The 2019 October 1st celebration organized by the National Association of Odimodi Students, NAOS in collaboration with the Perez Intellectual Foundation, PIF recorded a huge success.

The Intellectual and social event featured lectures delivered by Engr. Ebiotubo Amakubukro who spoke on the topic “Strategies for Academic Success ” . It would be recalled that Ebiotubo is the pioneer president of the National Association of Odimodi Students, NAOS.

On the other hand, Amb. Comr. Binebai Yerin Princewill also delivered lecture on the theme of the programme tagged “Invest in Education For The Development Of Society, The NAOS Example “.

Beside the captivating lectures delivered by the duo during the occasion to the bewilderment of everyone in the gathering, the ceremony had earlier witnessed the display of drama showcasing the strength of unity among Nigerians.

The dramatic personaes dramatized and revealed the many evils associated with tribalism, noting that only with love and unity will Nigeria as a country move forward.

In the preservation of culture, there was a scintillating wrestling contest that nearly made spectators lose control owing to the excitement and intrigues that surrounds the exercise.

Other activities that added more colour to the independence celebration at Odimodi community in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State include Match Pass, Quiz, Debate, musical display of a rising star, Ben Tee who thrilled the audience to maximum satisfaction.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to Niger Deltans that have distinguished themselves in society and have also contributed towards the growth and development of education within the Niger Delta region and NAOS in particular.

Some of the recipients of the awards include Papa Andrew Isama, Comr. Justice Timiadi Akuna, Amb. Comr. Binebai Yerin Princewill and Chief Edward Prebor.

The level of attendance and the activities that greeted the entire event makes it appear like a state sponsored event.

Meanwhile, The Liberator can report that the celebration of Nigeria Independence have since become a tradition of the National Association of Odimodi Students, NAOS to be celebrated each year.

The body is currently headed by Comr. Obaila Werinene Collins as its National President.

Nevertheless, chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze, leader Burutu legislative Arm, represented by his personal assistant, Comr. Reuben D. Selekowei had stated that his boss will continue to partner with patriotic students union groups within the Niger Delta region.

He maintained that he is proud of the National Association of Odimodi Students, NAOS, for finding him worthy of such appointmen, stressing that he is happy to identify with NAOS.
