James Manager: Takeme Hails Judiciary For Upholding Democracy

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Delta south senatorial district, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme has commended the judiciary for upholding democracy in Delta State in particular and in the country at large

Takeme made this statement while speaking to journalists immedaitely after Senator James Manager of PDP was declared winner of the 2019 election by the appellate court in Benin

According to him, justice and fair play has played out while saying the people of Delta south largely voted for his party’s candidate.

He said, “Today the judiciary has uphold democracy and give the common man hope. Today’s judgment is victory for Nigerians and Delta south in particular. Our candidate, James Manager won the election with large margin but the election tribunal in their judgement nullified his victory.

“But here we are today. The Appeal Court has upturned the judgement of the Tribunal and affirmed that Senator James Manager won the election. I give kudos to the judges for upholding democracy.

The Appeal Court set aside appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Delta south senatorial district, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, affirming victory of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator James Manager as winner of the February 2019 National Assembly election.

Udughan had approached the Appellate Court to upturn judgement of the election Tribunal, Asaba, ordering for a rerun at the senatorial district.
