Coronavirus: Dekawei Foundation Splashes Foodstuffs Worthing Millions Of Naira To  OKerenkoko In Delta – The Liberator

In what appears as a good news for rural dwellers in Delta State, particularly to the people of Okerenkoko and its federated communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the auspices of John Dekawei Foundation has splashed millions of naira in purchasing and distributing foodstuffs to members of the community.

The John Dekawei Foundation delivered the food items earlier today to the leadership of the community, stressing that the foodstuffs are his token to cushion the effect of the 14 days stay at home lockdown in the state to curtail spread of coronavirus.

Presenting the food items to the community, Mr. Bebenimibo Moses Azosibe, popularly known as MC Colabo, media director/coordinator of the John Dekawei Foundation who represented the foundation’s Chairman cum founder, Amb. John Dekawei had hinted members of the Okerenkoko federated community that his boss (Amb. Dekawei) chairman of the foundation is highly disturbed by the welfare of members of the community.

Mr. Bebenimibo explained that the John Dekawei Foundation owing to its aims and objectives will continue to prioritize the welfare of his people including the aged in the area, stressing that the gesture is just one out of the many programmes it had set out to embark upon this year.

He particularly noted that the presence of the Foundation will be more visible in the riverine communities, Delta, Niger Delta, Nigeria and across the globe.

However, responding to the John Dekawei Foundation led by its media director/coordinator, Mr. Moses Bebenimibo on behalf of the Okerenkoko community chairman and its members , Mr. Layefa Super, public relations officer of the community, appreciated the foundation for the kind gesture, describing it as a welcome and wonderful contribution to the well-being of the people.

Comr. Super lauded the foundation that they have left behind a good memory that the people of Okerenkoko federated community will not be easily forgotten, praying that only good things shall continue to locate Amb. Dekawei and his foundation, adding that the community is proud of him.

The items include bags of rice, garri, salts and kegs of palm oil, grandnut oil as well as other items.

It would be recalled that after the presentation of the foodstuffs to the leadership of Okerenkoko federated community by the John Dekawei Foundation, it now behooves on the community leadership to ensure the even and equitable distribution of the items to members of the community.

In a brief interview on phone with The Liberator Newspaper, the Chairman and Founder of the John Dekawei Foundation, Amb. John Dekawei noted that the foundation has been in existence for years helping the needy in the society, payment of school fees as well as running other humanitarian activities in the region.

Amb. Dekawei noted that the foundation has been assisting people for long without bringing it to the media, stressing that they are working on how to officially launch the foundation later this year when the atmosphere would be clear for the general public to know.

The chairman maintained that the John Dekawei Foundation has foreign partnership with a Non Governmental Organisation in


,United States of America and another NGO in Senegal that prioritises the girl child education, maintaining that better days are here for the people of Niger Delta.

Dekawei said contributing positively in its little way to ensuring a better society remains the fulcrum of his services to humanity and the foundation in general.

It would be recalled that Amb. Dekawei is a social crusader and an advocate of good governance, he is the President general of a leading Niger Delta socio-cultural group, operating under the auspices of Delta Ijaw Youth Movement For Political Advancement, DIYMPA.
