An indigene of Odidi Community in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Jerry Igbegbe has given a one week ultimatum to companies operating in the Odidi flowstation, OML 42 to address lingering issues  with the community or be prepared for the worse.

Mr. Igbegbe particularly stated that Neconde, Nestoil and the entire Obijackson group of companies working in the oil facility should for their own interest pack their loads and leave the facility if they fails to pay entitlements of the community within the stipulated time.

Jerry made this known earlier today via a statement he issued and circulated to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

He maintained that the ultimatum has become necessary owing to the gross abandonment of the host community, Odidi by Neconde, Nestoil and the entire Obijackson group of companies, stressing that the companies have continued to pay deaf ears to their plights despites several agreements reached with them.

Some of the burning issues Jerry Igbegbe highlighted include the non payment of peace bonus for the past 15 months, noting that out of 15 months the company only paid two months recently which according to him is too paltry.

Other matters according to him include non payment of indigenous contractors, community development fees for over a year now and the growing frosty relationship between the companies and the host community.

The statement had informed the Federal Government of Nigeria, Delta State Government and relevant security agencies to be aware that whatever that happens in the facility they should hold Mr. Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi, Chief Executive Officer of Neconde Energy Company Limited for his perpetual enslavement of Odidi despite their peaceful disposition over the years.

In his words: “We are begging the Federal Government of Nigeria to immediately call Mr. Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi, Chief Executive Officer of Neconde Energy Company Limited, Nestoil and Obijackson group of companies to order.

“FG, State Government and security agencies should hold Mr. Ernest and his group of companies responsible should anything happens in the facility for his failure to address community issues.

“He has one week ultimatum to pay all pending monies or else, whatever that happens in Odidi river, we are not to be blamed. Mr. Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi, Chief Executive Officer of Neconde Energy Company Limited should be blamed.

“If after one week and the companies continues to remain adamant, he should pack his loads and live our facility or else, whatever he sees, he should take it.” Mr. Jerry Igbegbe stated.
