​Obotobo 1 Community In Ogulagha Kingdom Celebrates Tompolo On Court Judgement

The people of Obotobo 1 community in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have congratulated high Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo on his latest victory  at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Speaking on behalf of the entire members of the Oil rich community, Mr. Victor Maika, Chairman of the community in a chat with The Liberator Newspaper noted that the legendary Niger Delta hero, Tompolo deserves the best congratulatory messages from the Ijaws, Niger Deltans and good spirited Nigerians in general. 

Chairman of Obotobo 1 asserted that the community has been in a mood of jubilation since the judgement was delivered on Wednesday 15th of July 2020. 

Mr. Maika particularly tasked  the Ijaw nation to be more united against external forces, adding that a divided house cannot stand, emphasising that the tortures political incarceration of Tompolo has thought the Ijaws many lessons. 

Maika also called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to stop further  witch hunt of Tompolo, adding that no one has ever brought development to the entire Niger Delta region and the Ijaw territory more than Chief Ekpemupolo whom the region is proud of. 

Recall that The Liberator Newspaper earlier reported that a Lagos  Division of the Federal High Court on Wednesday dismissed  all forty count charge against Tomopolo and Global West Vessels Specialist Limited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)

Tomopolo was charged along side a former Director -General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency Patrick Akpoboloukemi, Kime Engozu, Rex Elem and Grego.

In his ruling, Justice Buba upheld the defendant’s no case submission stating that the prosecution ” failed to establish a prima facie case against Tomopolo and others
