​IYC: Three Days After Election, Pukon Begins Thank You Visit With Orubu, Oweilaemi

Exactly three days after the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Election Worldwide conducted at Oporoza, traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Frank Pukon Secretary general elect of IYC has on Wednesday embarked on a thank you visit to appreciate leaders. 

Hon. Pukon and his entourage begins the thank you visit with Engr J.G. Orubu, Paramount Ruler of Diebiri Clan in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State and former president of Ijaw Youth Council, Barr. Pereotubo Oweilaemi.

At the resident of the Diebiri paramount ruler in Warri, Hon. Pukon said he is acting on the statement that have become axiomatic that charity begins at home. 

Pukon noted that as the paramount ruler hosting him, he must first identify with him on his victory, stressing the royal blessings he received from the paramount ruler before the election  also contributed to his victory, adding that he will never let him down. 

High point of the visit to the Diebiri Clan paramount ruler was the receiving of more royal blessings from Engr. Orubu who prayed for Pukon’s continued expansion in whatever he embarks on, stressing that he is very proud of Pukon as he has made Diebiri Kingdom proud before the entire Ijaw nation. 

In a continuation of the thank you visit, Rt. Hon. Frank also visited former president of council, Barr. Pereotubo Oweilaemi to appreciate him for working hard to ensure that there is no further division in council. 

Pukon asserted that Oweilaemi and others made a lot of sacrifices to keep the IYC united, stressing that as a man that has occupied the highest position in council and as president who is from Western Zone, he deemed it feat to visit him in order to fraternize on the way forward of council. 

However, Oweilaemi who expressed joy over  the visit of the Ijaw Youth Council secretary worldwide had appreciated him for the visit, adding that the visit is a rare one as most people no longer visit leaders after election. 

Speaking among other vital issues, Oweilaemi noted that he will continue to cooperate with the newly elected 8th national executive council of IYC to ensure that whenever the need arises for his assistance he will not hesitate to give out his assistance. 

On his part, Hon. Pukon had noted that the consultation visit is a continuous one as he will be visiting leaders in the zone to appreciate them for their roles before, during and after the election.
