​New Dawn As Aladja Youths Graces  Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Youth Exco Inauguration

History was made as youths from Aladja community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday graced the inauguration ceremony of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Youth Council at Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State. 


In his speech during the occasion, Chairman of the inauguration ceremony, Engr. Dickson Ogugu, a leader in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom had lauded the youths and people of Ogbe-Ijoh for the peaceful conduct of youth election and the gradual return of peace between Ogbe-Ijoh and their Aladja brothers in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. 


Speaking among other issues,  Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Ogugu charged the newly elected youth executives headed by Comr. James Etimadimene to always work with the constituted authorities in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in order to contribute his quota towards the growth and development of the kingdom. 

While appreciating the youths of Ogbe-Ijoh for making him chairman of the occasion, Dickson admonished the new youth exco led by Comr. James Etimadimene to follow the path of his predecessor in ruling youths of the kingdom. 


“I laud Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja youths  for the return of peace between the two communities. I couldn’t have been more happier. 


“I also commend the outgoing youth exco for working in consonance with the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom constitution just as i am urging the new exco to follow up with the good works of their predecessors. 

“It is my advise that you should  work with the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom traditional council, governing council, elders council as well as the women wing, all organs must work together to ensure a better Ogbe-Ijoh. There are multifaceted issues bedeviling the kingdom and Ijaw nation hence we need to work hard in unity to combat these issues. I appreciate the youths of Ogbe-Ijoh  for honouring me with the privilege of being  chairman of this historic occasion.” Engr. Ogugu stated. 


High point of the occasion was the administering of Oath of office to the new youth executive members of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom by Chairman, Governing Council, Chief Roland Takemebo. 


Shortly after administering the Oath of office, the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Governing Council chairman, Chief Takemebo charged the youths to be purposeful and vision driven. 


He particularly expressed joy over the manner with which they conducted themselves peacefully during the election and subsequent inauguration ceremony yesterday, stressing that peace remains the only antidote to development. 

Chief Roland however, expressed confidence on the new youth body that they will work peacefully with all structures in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom to drive home the much needed development in the Kingdom. 


Meanwhile, newly inaugurated president of the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Youth Council, Comr. James Etimadimene had assured the people of Ogbe-Ijoh that he will work closely with all the various organs in the kingdom to ensure that Ogbe-Ijoh gets what it truly deserves in the state, region and the country at large. 

Comr. James said the task of delivering a better leadership in Ogbe-Ijoh is a collective responsibility as he called on all sons and daughters to support his administration and other authorities in moving the kingdom forward. 

The president general of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom had assured the people that he will not dissapoint them for the confidence bestowed on him, stressing that together with his executive members, a better Ogbe-Ijoh is in the making, adding that he will continue to cement the relationship between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities.

In his lecture during the occasion, Rev Enienghan Thompson Layefa Tomwill who delivered lecture on the importance of having a vision speaks on series of issues bedeviling the society. 

In his words: “In the society of today, man must have a clear vision, he must place value to himself before people can respect him or take him serious as the road to success is not an easy one”.

Tomwill, the brain behind the peace move between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja Communities had while recounting his hurdles in life before becoming who he is today had also used the medium to encourage skill acquisition despite education. 

Comr. Bibo Ogbona, former President of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Youth Council during his hand over speech appreciated the people of Ogbe-Ijoh for giving him such position to rule over them in the last two years, says there are challenges as he highlights achievements of his tenure to include  peaceful conduct of youth election in the history of the youth body as well as the gradual return of peace among other vital issues. 

President Ogbona had tasked the Comr. James led youth exco to consolidate on the peaceful coexistence among the  people of Ogbe-Ijoh and beyond, adding that the youths should look into the issue of Ogbe-Ijoh community monthly sanitation and the illegal dumping of waste in the waterfront of the community  as well as the fight against cultism were some of the matters raised by former president Ogbona. 

The event was well attended by dignitaries from all works of life within the Niger Delta region.
