Chief Dr. Julius Takeme (JP) has appreciated His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State for making it possible for his re-election and inauguration as Vice Chairman/Chairman Delta South Peoples Democratic Party  and a member of PDP State Executive Committee.

Reeling out his appreciation, Dr. Takeme while thanking the PDP delegates for his re-election had also greeted leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta South and all those who work behind the scene to ensure his victory in Asaba yesterday.

The Delta South Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Chief Julius Takeme issued the appreciation message yesterday via a statement he personally signed and circulated to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

However, Takeme had vowed to work collectively with the state Chairman of the party, Barr. Kingsley Esiso and all stakeholders in the party to sustain the dominance of PDP in the state.

He particularly noted that words have failed him to properly ascentuate how grateful he is to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State and all those in the party that worked hard to ensure his victory, stressing that he will not betray the confidence reposed on him, adding that he will as usual operate an open door policy by working with everyone in the party.

It would be recalled that the Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Saturday returned Chief Kingsley Esiso for another four years term as its State Chairman.

Esiso who emerged through consensus arrangement was returned with majority of his 39 members exco unopposed, following the consensus arrangement.

Addressing party faithful and the newly elected party officials, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa urged them not to be distracted by the antics of opposition parties, noting that the consensus arrangement showed that the PDP was very united in the state.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori who spoke with newsmen just after the Congress, congratulated Chief Kingsley Esiso and his exco on their election.

While urging the exco to remain resolute in its resolve to move the State PDP forward,  Oborevwori told party members across the state not to relent in their support for the party and the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s led government.

Speaking after the State Congress which was done through an affirmative vote, Esiso thanked Chief James Ibori and other party leaders particularly in Delta central, for the role they played towards ensuring his reelection as state chairman.

Meanwhile. the congress which was conducted by a committee from Abuja led by Lawrence Ezewan was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
