​Asupa Splashes Millions On Constituents In Delta, Provides Relief Materials For Flooded Communities

In what has been described as commendable and a sigh of relief by the people of Burutu North, the member representing Burutu Constituency 1, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, popularly known by his political associates as holy michael and the Odogboru of Africa on Friday doled out cash worthing millions of naira to provide relief materials for flood affected communities in his constituency. 

Forteta while addressing members of the press yesterday at the distribution center in Warri, around the Giwamu axis, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State,  maintained that he could not sleep and see how his constituents suffers the harrowing effects of the flood that has nearly ravaged all communities in the constituency. 

He said while Government will work towards seeing how to prevent the perennial flooding of communities in the area and beyond with a well thought out plan, as a lawmaker representing the area, he thought it wise to provide relief materials to cushion the effect of the ravaging flood in his constituency. 

Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta stressed that he is aware that the flood has brought untold hardship to his people hence the need to provide the relief materials as his own personal contribution to show that he feels their pains as their representative. 

When asked on the items and the distribution process, Hon. Asupa explained that the food items include several cartons of Indomie noodles and bags of rice that was distributed to all the six wards constituting Burutu North through their ward leaders.

The Liberator Newspapers observed that in trucks leaders of the wards came to load their relief materials meant for each ward for unward distribution  to the affected communities. 

However, Forteta also extended his hand of fellowship to Muslims and other critical sectors of people in the constituency by giving them relief materials as well, adding that every human is important. 

On his part, Chief ( Dr) Julius Takeme, Chairman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta South  who was on ground with his huge entourage to supervise the distribution process had particularly lauded the gesture of Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, member representing Burutu North Constituency, describing him as a special breed of politician in Burutu Local Government and Delta State at large. 

Dr. Takeme further tasked the lawmaker never to renege on his good deeds towards the people, stressing that Asupa deserved to be praised by always coming to the aid of the people despite the economic downturn. He said “Hon. Asupa is truly a man “.

Chief (Hon) Combolous Ikisa who represented his boss, Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Hon. Godknows Angele maintained  that the council is also working round the clock to ameliorate the sufferings of the people in their own way. 

Chief Ikisa asserted that he is not surprised that Forteta is spending millions of naira to provide relief materials to flood ravaged communities and the entire Burutu North, adding that this is not the first time the lawmaker is doing such. 

Meanwhile, Hon. Ebike Oromoni, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu Local Government Area had described Asupa as a fine product of the party in Burutu Local Government. 

He maintained that he is proud of Asupa anytime and anyday. 

It would be recalled that the lawmaker also doled out cash to assist the various ward leaders to transport the food items to the various communities. 

Political leaders present during the distribution of the food items include Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, member representing Burutu North, Delta State House of Assembly; Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Delta South;  Hon. Ebike Oromoni,  PDP Chairman, Chairman Burutu Local Government Area;  Chief Combolous Ikisa, Vice Chairman Burutu Local Government Area who represented  his  boss, Hon.  Godknows Angele, Chairman of the council; Rt. Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze, leader Burutu Legislative House; Barr Alhaji Isa Clark, SSA, community development; Mr. Kofee Ebisine Amasouma, SSA to the Governor on Investment; Hon. Sunny Perekeme, Secretary to council, Mr. Ignatius Ziakegha, Mrs Celestina Ewesuodo, Engr. Akin Benikurukuru among others that were present to witness the distribution.
