A youth leader in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Napoleon Kenerekedi has called on the His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State and other critical stakeholders to look into the pathetic situation of the Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu.

He said since the school began its academic journey in 2011 till date, the Delta State Government is yet to build any structure to completion in the only state Government owned tertiary institution for the Ijaws in Delta.

Comr. Napoleon made the call via a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri recently, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers.

In his words: “This is a school that was approved by the Delta State gov less than two years and we have the Burutu marine technology established over thirteen years ago yet no structure.

“I know Okowa is a lover of the Ijaw man but i am worried and disturbed to see or hear a person that loves someone yet suffers the person.”For God so LOVE the world that He gave His only beggotten son. The only higher institution the Ijaws in Delta State have is without a 50% completed  structure but in an LGA not an entire ethnic group even that has series of higher institution that a technical college was approved for not up to two years can have this structures in it and yet the Ijaw man stiill call the governor a lover of Ijaw people.

“The present leaders of Burutu LGA should know that one day they will not be in that offices they’re occupying today and if they feels,it’s not their business in anything that concerns that school no wahala oooo. You people should know that the school is the only school for now the Delta Ijaws have and even if you will not take your children to that school because you have plenty of money to give them private school education, what about your other family members that cannot afford their children private school education? Some of us that are talking today will be tagged with all kind of unprinted names but our present leaders should learn from the past.I know how many of our brothers and sisters from Ijaw communities that have graduated from that school because it is closer to them. The Ijaw man is not in her rightful place politically in this state because we’re missing out key ingredients of politics.

“Though,we may be having some offices with semblance of been carried along but the obvious truth remains that the Ijaws in Delta State don’t have political value.

“Example, Recently the executive of Delta State govt approved thirteen projects in their executive council meeting and a road project was approved for the Ijaw people of Delta State out of the thirteen, the said project was approved for the sum of two point something billion naira if i am not mistaking in a total sum of about one hundred billion naira in the thirty projects.

“The money that was approved and alotted  to the Ijaw people is not even my concern because that’s politics for you.My major concern and worries was the endless praises and accolades from the Ijaw people to Okowa on print and electronic media why the other ethnic groups  that had the lion share of the approved projects are busy planning of what to do to draw antention of govt to those areas they need the govt to develop.I am pained seeing the Ijaw man going back to where we were before the crisis and this time it will be very disastrous us.I AM TRULY PAINED HOW THE IJAW MAN IS LOSING  POLITICAL VALUE GRADUALLY”.
