Pipeline Contract: Moni Tackles Arewa Youth Assembly Over Remark On Tompolo
Former Niger Delta freedom fighter and founding member of Meinbutu, Chief Ebis Moni has tackled the Arewa Youth Assembly over their recent incendiary remark on High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, calling on the Federal Government of Nigeria not to give pipeline surveillance contract to Tompolo.
While reacting to the publication of the Arewa Youth Assembly, the renowned former Niger Delta freedom fighter had called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to completely disregard the statement credited to Arewa Youth Assembly, stressing that Tompolo is the only man suitable for the job.
Chief Ebis Moni made his position known to newsmen in Warri recently via a press statement he personally signed, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.
According to him, Tompolo, over the years after accepting the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty deal with the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2009 has been using his own personal resources in preaching peace and even safeguarding the Niger Delta waterways.
Ebis Moni had particularly called on the Arewa Youth Assembly to sink deep to know more about the man Tompolo, stressing that Tompolo is a friend to all, adding that he has contributed so much in keeping Nigeria united.
In his words: “It is very unfair for the Arewa Youth Assembly to be talking to Tompolo like that, this is a man that have done a lot for the growth and development of Nigeria.
“He deserved to be given any contract as far as Nigeria is concerned. He is from oil bearing communities in the Niger Delta region, he has the legal, moral and ethical right to get any contract in Nigeria including the Pipeline Surveillance Contract.”
Speaking further, Ebis Moni has cautioned the Arewa Youth Assembly to keep clear from the activities of Tompolo, Niger Delta and the Ijaw people, warning that they should henceforth desist from making such provocative and divisive publication.
