Takeme Assembles Delta South Senatorial PDP Aspirants, Hail Okowa, Promises Free, Fair Primaries

Chairman of the Delta South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme have  invited all PDP aspirants in Delta South Senatorial District  justling for the party’s ticket for a meeting. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

In the meeting that was held earlier today at the Delta South Senatorial District office at Okere road in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State saw all five senatorial aspirants from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that have purchased their nomination and expression of interest forms in attendance. 

While speaking to the aspirants in a closed door meeting, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme had vowed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State is committed in ensuring that the party conducts a free, fair and credible PDP primaries for all aspirants. According to him, the party in Delta South cannot afford to conduct anything less than free, fair  and credible PDP primaries, stressing that His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State is a national and global democrat, adding that the PDP at the national level will continue to remember how he conducted one of the most free and fair party primaries in Nigeria and beyond. 

While describing the gathering as a confidence building meeting, Dr. Takeme had charged all five aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta South to continue to see themselves as brothers. 

He noted that it has become necessary for him to call for such a meeting owing to the fact that the Delta South Senatorial District is the stronghold of PDP in Delta State, stating that it is germane to put the house in order ahead of the May 14th PDP Senatorial Primaries. 

However, the Delta South PDP boss had particularly charged aspirants not to indulge in hate campaigns, stressing that they should continue to indulge in decent campaigns and not the other way round, stating that aspirants should only be involved in activities that will only promote their agenda for the people and the party as well. 

Speaking further, Dr. Julius also stated that the party will be happy if at the end of the day, the aspirants rally round themselves and see the need to step down for one another, adding that such will  be a welcome development for the party. 

Chief Takeme maintained that for now it is five persons that have bought the Delta South Senatorial District (PDP) Nomination and expression of interest forms, adding that until the screening, the party recognises the five of them as justling for the party’s Delta South Senatorial PDP ticket.

Takeme admonished the aspirants to prepare themselves ahead of the party’s primaries to accept the outcome of whoever that will emerge victorious from the primaries, adding that everyone should endeavour to rally round the winner in convincing the electorates ahead of the general elections particularly in their areas. 

The five aspirants that attended the meeting include Hon. (Dr) Prince Michael Diden, popularly known as Ejele,  Rt. Hon. Prince Omashone, Sir Ayodele Aghogho, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju  as well as Sir Banabas.

In their reactions during the meeting, the Delta South Senatorial PDP aspirants have all lauded Chief Takeme’s leadership of the party in Delta South, adding that they consider the meeting as very important as it has afforded them the opportunity to seat together in a round table. 

They however, promised to go about their campaigns peacefully by rallying round the delegates, adding that Chief Takeme has truly demonstrated uncommon leadership in the party, stressing that they are truly proud of him. 

Nevertheless, Takeme asserted that His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State is a blessing to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Delta State at large, adding that it will be difficult for anyone to surpass the developmental strides of Okowa. 

Meanwhile, Dr. Takeme had assured the Delta South PDP faithfuls to prepare for better days, expressing optimism that come 2023, the PDP will continue to maintain its dominance in the state.
