A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Napoleon Kenerekedi has described the exit of former Minister, Niger Delta Affairs, Pst. Elder Godsday Peter Orubebe from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a welcome development.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Comr. Kenerekedi Napoleon made the assertion via a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

Napoleon noted that Elder Orubebe is exiting the PDP at the right time, stressing that the decision is for the interest of Ijaw people, particularly in Delta State.

It would be recalled that Comr. Napoleon Kenerekedi is a former information officer of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in Western Zone, comprising Delta, Edo and Ondo States, a position he used in serving the Ijaws meritoriously during his reign as the information officer in the Zone.

Speaking further, the APC chieftain had appealed to Elder Orubebe to consider joining the APC formally, stressing that he is adding his voice to that of the Delta APC campaign organisation.

The statement reads below:

I commend your decision to exit the PDP, i know your next political decision will be for the best interest of the Ijaw people, mostly  in Delta State.

The news of the formal exit of the former minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe came  at the time we most need him to do so.

We’ve known the former minister to be a national politician and therefore have nothing to do with a party that have no plan of making its way to be in power in the centre.

That informed why some of us have prayed to God for Elder Godsday Orubebe to leave the PDP and identify with a party with national  clout that can help him to pursue his dreams in the national  politics.

This decision of the former minister to exit the PDP is a plus to the Ijaws in any of the political party he so wish to identify with after today.

I therefore, use this opportunity to congratulate the progressive step of Elder Godsday Orubebe and also assure him of our readiness to work with him to see that we change the political narrative in the national, state and local govt elections come 2023.
