Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC), a leading socio cultural group in the region and Nigeria have called on His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State to take responsibilities for all activities in the state before May 29th 2023.

The group made the call via a statement personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday by Comr. Mamamu Bene Youkore, President general of the Niger Delta Youth Council, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

According to him, the Governor must be focused more than ever in addressing the burning issues confronting various parts of the state.

However, some of the critical things and projetcs the group mentioned that the Governor must complete and pay more attention to before leaving office on May 29th 2023 include the Ogbe-Ijoh Aladja peace movement, completion of Ayakoromo bridge, Urhobo/Ugbokodo Road to Salvation City, Benneth Island,  Sekelewu (Polobubor) primary health care center, Ogbudugbudu primary health care center and all ongoing projects across the state.

The youth leader noted that it is with the completion of such projects and giving permanent solution to some of these things by fully taking responsibility for everything in the state that will give him a soft landing in 2023 via his Vice Presidential race.

According to him, while Deltans will be happy to see Governor Okowa  emerging as vice president of the country come 2023, he noted that the Governor must try within his powers to address the multi faceted problems bedeviling the state now.

Speaking further, NDYC had tasked the Governor and the PDP vice presidential candidate never to neglect the activities of the state by focusing more on his Vice Presidential race, stressing that there is still a lot to be done in the state from now till 2023.

President Mamamu Yokore stated that while the Niger Delta Youth Council under his command will continue to be apolitical, he asserted that the group  will comment on political activities in the region when necessary.
