BREAKING: Trouble Looms In IYC As Parliament Invites President Igbifa For Questioning
Trouble seems to be brewing silently as the lawmaking organ of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide have invited the president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Comr. (Dcn) Peter Timothy Igbifa for questioning over varrying degrees of allegations.
The invitation by the IYC 5th Mobile Parliament was contained in a letter addressed to President Timothy Igbifa through the Secretary general of IYC, Hon. Frank Pukon dated on the 14th of July 2022, signed by Clerk of the Mobile Parliament, a copy of which was obtained by The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.
The letter had particularly summoned the revered President of IYC Worldwide, Comr. Peter Timothy Igbifa to appear before the sacred mobile 5th parliament on the 20th of July 2022 at Imiringi Community Town Hall in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Central Zone by 10am prompt.
However, a scan through the letter revealed that the President will be questioned on four point allegations.
1 Subvention coming from Bayelsa State Government to council
2 Two years in office, why has there not been any expanded executive meeting, National Convention or National Congress ?
3 Near collapse of council.
4 What are the plans of insecurity challenges by herdsmen and intruders in Ijaw Nation?
Meanwhile, when a call was put across to the President of IYC Worldwide, Comr. (Dcn) Peter Timothy Igbifa to hear his own reaction on the invitation, Igbifa said he is surprised at the development from the Parliament.
He noted that he has been working closely with the parliament, stressing that not all issues should be brought to the public regarding what and what the council has been doing under his command.
President Igbifa noted that he is really surprised at the development.
