ONYP: Dekawei Bags Icon Of Hope And Inspiration To Young Nigerians Award

In recognition of his humanitarian activities, a national group operating under the auspices of Organisation of Nigeria Young Professionals (ONYP) on Monday honoured Amb. John Dekawei, chairman of the John Dekawei Foundation (JDF) with an Icon of hope and Inspiration to young Nigerians award. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The award was presented to the multi award winning Niger Delta born humanitarian and an advocate of good governance, Amb. John Dekawei yesterday by the national coordinator of the Organisation of Nigeria Young Professionals (ONYP), Amb. Francis E. Bolokor at the Arena Lounge along Uti Road in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. 

In his speech during the presentation ceremony, Amb. Francis Bolokor had particularly described Amb. John Dekawei as a God sent to humanity, stressing that the group now under his command has been keenly following his activities over the years, stressing that the award was to encourage him to do more. 

According to Bolokor, ONYP cut across the entire country, explaining that it is an umbrella organisation housing all Nigerian young professionals, revealing  that the patron of the group is His Excellency, Chief Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria. 

Speaking further, the national coordinator maintained that the John Dekawei Foundation (JDF) was singled out for the award owing to his  positive contribution towards the wellbeing of the society by providing for the downtrodden and rendering other assistance to those in need across the country. 

The group had also promised to support and mobilise for Amb. John Dekawei to show solidarity for him whenever the need arises. 

The national coordinator of the Organisation of Nigeria Young Professionals was accompanied by three other critical officials of the group for the award presentation ceremony. 

However, in a swift reaction, recipient of the Icon of Hope and Inspiration To Young Nigerians Award, Amb. John Dekawei had appreciated the group for finding him worthy of such an award. 

He noted that whatever that he is doing for humanity is purely from his heart, adding that he will only do things that will please the Lord Almighty and not just to get accolades from humans.

John Dekawei, Chairman of the John Dekawei Foundation particularly charged the the group to continue to remain apolitical as a group, stating that they should keep pushing as there is going to be light at the end of the tunnel. 

Dekawei promised that the award will surely encourage him to do more, stating that he is ready to partner with the group whenever the need arises. 

Meanwhile, after the presentation of award to John Dekawei, medals were presented to Amb. Comr. Binebai Yerin Princewill and Comr. Justin Bebenimibo, popularly known as Mc Colabo for being true friends and promoters of Amb John Dekawei. 

In a similar development, customised John Dekawei notebooks was also presented to the Nigerian Peace Ambassador as well by the delegation of Organisation of Nigeria Young Professionals (ONYP).
