Ijaw Diaspora Maritime Scholars Congratulate Tompolo On Pipline Surveillance Contract

By Binebai Princewill

An Ijaw Diaspora group operating under the auspices of National Ogie Maritime Association, covering Ogulagha, Gbaramtu, Iduwini and Egbema Kingdoms (OGIE) in Delta, Bayelsa and Edo states have also added their voice in congratulating High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo on the award of pipline surveillance security contract to him by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report

The group had in their well scripted statement expressed readiness to work with Tompolo to add more value in the Nigerian and Niger Delta waterways.

The statement reads in full below:

With all humility and love, permit us to share our profound gratitude on this August occasion as for the award of the surveillance contract to our icon High Chief Government Ekpemupolo. It is a great welcome development to the Niger Delta and her diaspora.

Your antecedents as a leader of Niger Delta, had been a credible and reliable one in all facets of human development. Your humble and wise decisions had brought peace and coexistence among different ethnic nationalities. This surveillance job, we greatly believe will be done with much reliability.

In meat and potatoes, we are beneficiary of the Nigeria Seafarers Development Program (NSDP) under the umbrella of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Going to several countries for the study won’t have been possible without your efforts in commiting yourself to the love of education and youthful development in Niger Delta. We were sent to several countries like the Philippines, United Kingdom, India, Egypt, Romania and others. We are grateful and will always be thankful.

It is imperative to note that, we have never relent in the support of developmental milestones of yours and others in the Coastal Carolina of the Niger Delta.

Precisely, even before the establishment of the Nigeria Maritime University, during the visit of the vice president of Nigeria; Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to the Gbaramatu Kingdom to inspect the school facilities, if the varsity (NMU) should start academic activities or not, we were there in our full regalia to support the course on the need for the Maritime University to kick off. We lifted our voices and hands even on placards pleading with the Nigeria government to start the varsity dated January 16, 2017. The same supportive course even during the visit of the former president of the federal republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the Gbaramatu Kingdom. We were still then on our full regalia as Maritime personnels to welcome him. We have never kick back on the call to support development initiatives in the Niger Delta. On the same vein, we are in full support of this Surveillance contract and wish to work with you closely.

Addendum, we are the Maritime scholars from Ogulagha, Gbaramatu, Iduwini and Egbema Kingdom (OGIE). We wish to happily inform you that we have completed the first and second phase program and are now Maritime officers. We can vehemently say, we understand a lot about marine pollution control and maritime security. This is a great feat to work with you.

We want to say Congratulations once more and will be happy to see you soon.
