BREAKING: Western Zone IYC Lifts Ban On President Igbifa, To Meet With Tompolo Today
The Western Zone Structure of Ijaw Youth Council have lifted its ban earlier placed on the President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Dcn Peter Timothy Igbifa never to visit anywhere in the Zone.
The lifting of the ban was contained in a statement jointly signed by the trio of Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete, Chairman of IYC, Western Zone, Comr.Omaghomi Olu-Derimon, secretary and Comr. Lugard Izoukumo, information officer, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide earlier today.
However, the statement had noted that the ban is lifted owing to great concerns shown by leaders of Ijaw nation, stressing that in order to build on the unity of council, National officers of council (NEC), Zonal and chapter leaders as well as the leadership of the IYC Mobile parliament are expected to meet with High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo today to discuss critical matters affecting council.
The statement had directed all structures of council such as the Ogbos and clan structures in the Zone to abide by the latest decision as the ban has been lifted for better reasons.
The trio had noted that Mr. President should be embraced instead when he is in the zone as he will be in Warri today.
Meanwhile, the Western Zone leadership had noted that further directives will be given to members of council in the zone in due time.
